GILLIAM SEARCHES FOR A VAGRANT TO FILL HIS VACANT HOTEL ROOM
at contactmusic.com, August 15
According to the story TERRY GILLIAM (Brazil, 12 Monkeys et al.) was outraged when a Manhattan hotel charged him an entire extra day after he was a few minutes late checking out. Glliam conceived a brilliant plan of revenge. If the hotel insisted on charging him for the extra night, he was going to find a homeless person to move into the room.
In a measure of how far New York City has come along, Gilliam walked "all the way to the East River and couldn't find a single homeless person." Gilliam was "very disappointed."

Lucky guy. I guess you only find homeless people when you don't want them around.
Ya, I'm a little skeptical too. He should have swung past an ATM, but wealthy movie directors might not use those.
